Nellis Complex Compatible Use Plan
The Nellis Complex Compatible Use Plan (CUP) is a planning tool developed through a collaborative process that establishes and encourages synergetic relationships among all area stakeholders. Stakeholders include Clark County, Lincoln County, Nye County, the Cities of Las Vegas and North Las Vegas, Nellis Air Force Base (AFB), Creech AFB, Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR), and others. These relationships facilitate a team approach to the identification, prevention, and reduction of encroachment issues associated with current and future military missions and local community growth. The CUP provides an assessment of 49 compatibility issues around the Nellis Complex — Nellis AFB, Creech AFB, and the NTTR. The CUP culminates in an Implementation Plan that describes a variety of actions promoting education, communication, compatible land use, and resource planning and presents more than 120 recommendations for addressing identified compatibility issues.

Nellis Complex Compatible Use Implementation
The purpose of this project is to begin implementing several key recommendations from the Nellis Complex CUP. This Compatible Use (CU) Implementation Project, initiated in December 2021, addresses land use compatibility planning, unmanned aerial system (drone) usage, alternative energy siting around the Nellis Complex, and the enhancement of partnerships and communication processes among stakeholders.
