Second Set of Open Houses — Held February 2020
There were five separate workshops held in different geographic areas in Clark County, Lincoln County, and Nye County to provide sufficient opportunities for residents closest to the installations to attend. The workshops were held in an open house format to update the public on project progress, showcase the military mission operational footprints, and collect input on the importance of each compatibility issue that had been identified in terms of the timeframe that each issue should be addressed. Issue prioritization was achieved through an interactive exercise in which participants placed colored dots next to issues listed on large format posters to indicate if they should be addressed in the near term (1-3 years), long term (more than 3 years), or on an on-going basis. Participants could also indicate if they had no opinion about specific concerns.
The issues presented during the workshops were developed from committee comments and feedback, stakeholder interviews, and public input provided at the first set of workshops.
Participants were also provided two fact sheets. The first was a general overview of the project and the Area of Interest. The second described the types of strategies that can be developed to address compatibility issues. Workshop attendees were encouraged to give feedback on these strategies.
